Tiberius
This model was designed for no-compromise consumer or professional applications. It is a relatively compact 7″ two way design that has an externally mounted crossover. The Tiberius is used by Channel 10 in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
At CES 2001 in Las Vegas, Kalman Rubinson called it “One of the most enjoyable reproducers at the show”. Reviews
Voltaire
Designed in 1998 as a ‘no compromise’ audiophile D’Appolito twin 5″ floor standing loudspeaker. The Voltaire achieved critical acclaim at the 1999 Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show declared “best speaker at the show” by Electronic-Town’s editor Mark Fleischmann. Reviews
Metaphor
First produced in 1991 as a budget audiophile bookshelf loudspeaker. The Metaphor received critical acclaim, including two Sound & Image awards. It also had commercial success in Australia and was exported to Singapore and Malaysia.
Minotaur
Designed in 1988 as a compact audiophile stand-mounted 2-way loudspeaker with 5″ bass driver, customers include ABC Radio and TV, Channel 10, EMI Studios 301, Benchmark Mastering Studio. Reviews
Dolomite
Designed in 1984 as a ‘no compromise’ stand mount 8″ two way loudspeaker. The Dolomite was critical to Orpheus challenging the ‘imported is better’ principle and was quickly adopted by hi fi specialist dealers around Australia. This also applied to professional audio, where the Dolomite was selected by Channel 10 as pre and post broadcast monitors (5.1 Dolby Surround Sound). Channel 10 is still using the Dolomites in its Sydney facilities.
